Shoe Shopping In A Recession

If you’re anything like me, then having the right shoes for the right occasion is a necessity! That’s why I have several pairs and still always want more….well us girls need choice…right? Actually..it’s probably just down to the fact that I absolutely love shoes. Anyone else with me on this?

Even though I’m feeling the pinch at the moment and need to cut back on my spending I still feel that I ought to treat myself to a fab pair of stilettos now and again…where there is a will there is definitely a way….well that’s what I keep telling myself! What’s more important is that I’ve had to become a savvy shopper by finding ways I can get a pair of shoes for less and then delight over the fact I’ve managed to get money off (however little).  It makes me feel a hell of a lot better and a little less guilty too. :-)

My motto is; ” the end justifies the means”.  If I do some research and shop around and find a saving then it was well worth the time spent. People are still cautious about buying shoes over the internet, and rightly so, what if they don’t fit? What if they look different compared to online? What if I’m diasppointed? For some people buying online is too risky and they don’t want the hassle of having to send them back or the feeling of disappointment if they are not what they were expecting.

However it doesn’t have to be that way. Many high street shoe stores have online shops which often offer better discounts and prices online. I’ve learnt to visit a few of my favourite high street shops first, find the shoes I like and, more importantly, try them on to make sure they fit properly. Once I’m happy that the shoes are right I look for a deal online, usually you can get money off or free delivery if you spend over a certain amount. A good starting place  to look is on voucher codes sites like VoucherSeeker.co.uk.

These are some of the best offers I found so far:

SoleTrader, specialise in fashion and casual shoes and boots with brands such as Armani, Dr Martens and Timberland. SoleTrader are offering free UK delivery on all orders over £30

Barratts are offering free delivery on web orders over £50

Gluv Footwear, specialise in a range of stylish and comfortable footwear are offering 15% off new boots and shoes

Cosyfeet, specialising in comfortable footwear and slippers are offering 10% Off Everything

Clarks are offering up to £15 off selected pairs of shoes

Faith currently has a half price mid-season sale on too

This is just the tip of the iceberg and there are plenty more online offers available. If you’re looking for a new pair of this season’s shoes then I’d recommend you check out the latest offers before you buy..there is definitely a deal or two to be had.

Are you an online shoe shopper? Have you had a good or bad experience you’d like to share when buying shoes online? Let us know your thoughts.
